Recipe: Lamb Shanks Slow Cooked


They are finger licking good. Serves 3. More on the blog


  • 3 g lamb shanks
  • 1 g big red onion
  • 1 g white onion
  • 6 g cloves of garlic
  • 2 g bay leaves
  • 7 g juniper berries
  • 1 g peel of the lemon
  • 2 g carrots
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml lamb stock
  • 250 ml rose or white wine
  • 1 g salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp pul bieber
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 3 tbsp butter

heat the butter and salt the lamb shanks, brown them in the butter on all sides, take them out and place them in the slow cooker

half the onions and cut them in small rings, peel the garlic and it stays whole. crush the juniper berries and peel the lemon and chop the carrots

start the onions for 4 min. add the carrots and garlic and cook until a bit soft. Get in the tomato paste and flour and coat everything. Fill it up with liquid and bay leaves and season well. when it thickens, put it over the lamb shanks into the slow cooker

close the lid and cook for 7 hours on high. Serve with mash and green beans
